Easy-to-Understand Security Reports

Easy-to-read graphic reports provide you with all the details about the Internet threats that attack your computer. You can drill down into detailed security logs with just one click.

Without having to look over their shoulders, you can easily protect your children from inappropriate websites, limit their time on the Internet, and see detailed activity reports about what they do online.

Data Theft Prevention

Securely Erase Documents

Deleting a file just removes the directory information used to find it, but not the actual data. The Secure Erase feature overwrites deleted files with random data, so that the contents can’t be retrieved. For even more security, the Permanent Erase option overwrites files seven times and meets United States government data security standards.

 Review

Internet security suites go beyond simple antivirus protection to include email scanning, identity protection and parental controls. comes with exceptionally adept parental controls, and extra PC licenses are surprisingly affordable. Trend Micro offers this suite in reasonably priced three, five or 10 licenses packages so you can easily secure all the PCs and laptops that your family uses.

Our reluctance to place this security suite higher in our ranking stems from inconsistent test results. In March 2011 running Windows 7 they scored 3.5 (out of 6) by AV-Test in protection, repair and usability. However, in August running the same OS they scored 4.5, 2 and 5. A score of 2 out of 6 in repair is not reassuring.

Review

Protection

In terms of independent tests, AVG is one of the top performers. Since December of 2010, they earned an average of 5 out of 6 in protection, 4/6 in repair and 4.5/6 in usability from AV-Test running Windows XP, Vista and 7. These scores are not perfect; however, only two products in this review earned 6/6 from AV-Test.

 Security Features

This internet security software includes most of the features you need to protect your computer and keep your AVG security software up-to-date. You can schedule scans and updates, play games uninterrupted, protect your identity, scan USB drives and discs, and it will pause or delay scans when you laptop battery is running low.

I think AVG Internet Security 2012 is the best on to use
